How will reactive results for gonorrhoea be dealt with?

Once the results are ready the patient will be sent an SMS advising them to check the portal where they can view their results.

The Recall Health Adviser Team will give the patient one working day to check their portal - and if they have not done this by this time, the team will contact them directly to offer support.

Patients who test positive for gonorrhoea who have checked their portal will be signposted to a page which will show the patient sexual health clinics local to them. The information that the patient will see - with regards to how to book an appointment, contact details, and opening times - will depend on the details that each specific clinic provides to us.

The Recall Health Adviser Team will give the patient two working days after they have viewed their results to attend a service - and if they have not done this by this time, the team will contact them directly to offer support.

When a patient attends a clinic for treatment and Partner Notification it is the clinic’s responsibility to update this on the portal so the Recall Health Adviser Team can view this and can safely take the patient off the worklist.
