How will service users needing treatment choose their provider?

The patient will always be signposted to their local clinical provider in the first instance when accessing the portal or when calling the SHL Health Adviser Team. However, patients can choose an alternative provider should they wish to do so and the SHL Health Adviser Team can help assist with this if needed.

The SHL Recall Health Adviser Team do not have the facility to make appointments for those with positive STIs and can only facilitate (currently) on the basis of what information is provided to us from the chosen terrestrial service. To avoid delays to care, participating clinics need to ensure that SHL has up-to-date information about ways of accessing care to their terrestrial clinics, and preferably offer fast track mechanisms for these high priority individuals.
