Can I test whilst I’m having my period?

Owing to how sensitive the Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea DNA testing is, menstrual blood does not typically affect the outcome of the result. However, we do find from time to time (for unrelated reasons) a swab test may need to be repeated. Should this happen, we can send you another one or guide you into a clinic to repeat this.
